A Pharmacological Study of "Bronchitis No. 75", A Prescription for Reinforcing the Vital Energy and Aetivating Blood Circulation
Recipe for bronchitis No. 75 (No. 75) displayed an antitussive effect on the cough induced by NH

aerosol in mice. It also increased the concentration of phenol red in tracheal washings of the mice to which phenol red was given intraperitoneally. No. 75 antagonized the contraction induced by histamine and acetylcholine in isolated tracheal smooth muscle of guinea pig. Besides these
it also inhibited significantly the antigen-induced release of histamine from the lung tissue of the ovalbumin-sensitized guinea pig. Intraperitoneal administration of No. 75 showed significant anti-inflammatory effect on acute edema of paws induced by formalin and proliferation of granuloma induced by the cotton pellet in rats. On the other hand
it was effective in increasing the

Rb uptake of the myocardium of mice. No. 75 also had an anti-anoxic effect on the mice.
