One hundred twenty—three hospitalized cases of cholelithiasis wererandomly divided and designed in groups and stratifications and treatedby pellet—press-ing to auriculo—acupoints plus taking pig’s trotters

and placebo plustaking pig’strotters respectively for comparative andprospective studies.Resultsrevealed that

in the pellet—pressing plus taking pig’s trotters group

the totaleffective rate was 65.6% and the rate of remission was25%.In terms of its action of relieving symptoms

preventing occurrence ofcolic pain or recurrent abdom-inal pain

the pellet—pressing group wassuperior tothe other 3 groups.The results of our study al-sodemonstrated that

though pellet—pressing methodyielded definiteresults for cholelithiasis

but the effec-tive rates were not as high asthat reported by previouspapers.
