The treatment group were treated with acupuncture plus Xi Feng Capsule and the control group with simple Xi Feng Capsule. The clinical attack frequency. lasting time and symptoms of attack
and electroencephalogram were observed to valuate the therapeutic effecs. Results showed that the markedly effective rate was 76. 1% and 50. 0%. the total effective rate 96. 7% and 90. 0% in the treatment group and the control group
respectively
with no statistically significant difference between the two groups (P>0. 05)
but the therapeutic effects of the treatment group in frequency and lasting time of attack
and elect roencephagram were superior to those in the control group with significant difference (P < 0. 05). It is suggested that acupuncture plus Xi Feng Capsule has a higher therapeutic effect.
