Clinical Observation on Prognosis of 30 Cases of Diffuse Axonal Injury Intervened by Combination of Chinese and Western Medicine
Objective: To observe the effect of Angong Niuhuang Bolus on prognosis of diffuse axonal injury (DAI)
and to explore awaking and body-temperature-reducing actions of Angong Niuhuang Bolus in the patient of DAI. Methods: 30 cases of DAI were treated by routine western medicine therapy plus Angong Niuhuang Bolus as treatment group
and other 30 of DAI were treated by only routine western medicine therapy as control group. Their prognosis was estimated and analyzed by Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)and Glasgow Outcome Scale(GOS)and mortality. Results:The total effective rate of 80% in the treatment group was significantly better than 56. 7% in the control group(P<0. 05)
and the symptoms and signs improved and GCS score increased significantly (P<0. 01)
and the mortality decreased in the treatment group as compared with the control group. Conclusion: Angong Niuhuang Bolus has obvious protecting action on the brain in the patient of DAI
with safe and credible therapeutic effect and less side effect.
