Clinical Study on Acupuncture at Cervical Jiaji Points Combined with Manipulation for Treatment of 30 Cases of Cervical Spondylosis of Neck Type and Nerve Root Type
Objective:To observe and assess the therapeutic effectiveness of acupuncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with manipulation on cervical spondylosis of neck type and nerve root Type. Methods:A total of 50 patients were randomly divided into two groups
a test group and a control group. The test group of 30 cases were treated by the combination therapy of acupuncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)and Wong’s manipulation
and the control group of 20 cases by oral administration of Shujing Decoction. The comprehensive efficacy
the single symptom and the responsiveness to treatment between the two groups were evaluated by means of the clinical assessment scale(CAS)and visual analogue scale(VAS).Results:In the test group
the total effective rate was 100%
and the cumulative score for CAS was raised significantly
and VAS for pain of head
neck and shoulder was decreased significantly. These were superior to those in the control group. However
there was no significant difference between the two groups in VAS for pain of the upper limbs; For pain of head.neck and shoulder
the test group in the time for inducing pain remission and the time for pain disappearance was significantly superior to the control group. For pain of the upper limbs
the test group in the time for inducing pain remission was significantly superior to the control group
but the time for pain disappearance was similar to the control group. Conclusion:Acupuncture at cervical Jiaji(EX-B2)combined with Wong’s manipulation is a better regimen for treatment of cervical spondylosis of neck type and nerve root type.
