Objective:To explore the role of Jianpi Huayu Tablets in decreasing blood sugar

regulating blood lipids and increasing sensitivity to insulin for the patient of type Ⅱ diabetes with insulin resistance.Methods:97 cases of type Ⅱ diabetic with hyperinsulinemia

and insufficiency of the spleen and kidney

and interlocking of phlegm and blood stasis were enrolled in the study.Patients were randomly divided into a treatment group（Jianpi Huayu Tablets group

n=65） and a control group（Metformin group

n=32） and were administrated for 8 weeks.Results:The total effective rate for the improvement of TCM syndromes was 81.54% in the treatment group and 59.38% in the control group with significant difference between the two groups（P<0.05）.The total effective rate for the decrease of fast blood sugar

2h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin was 81.54%

75.38% and 70.77% in the treatment group

and 65.63%

50.00% and 56.25% in the control group

respectively.The total effective rate for increase of insulin sensitive index was 78.46% in the treatment and 53.13% in the control group

with significant difference between the two groups（P<0.05）.Conclusion:The method for invigorating the spleen

nourishing the kidney and removing blood stasis has remarkable therapeutic effect in improving insulin resistance of the patient of type Ⅱ diabetes.
