Objective:To observe effects of Yixin Jiangya Capsules on insulin-resistance（IR） and tumor necrosis factor-α（TNF-α） in the patient of primary hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy.Methods:Ninety-three cases were randomly divided into a treatment group（n=62） and a control group（n=31）.All the patients were treated with oral administration of Enalapril and Yixin Jiangya Capsules was added in the treatment group.Results:Fast serum insulin（FSI） and TNF-α significantly increased

but insulin sensitive index（ISI） significantly decreased in both groups before treatment as compared with the healthy group.After treatment

FSI

TNF-α and fast blood glucose（FBG） significantly decreased

and ISI significantly increased in both groups

but the therapeutic effect in treatment group was superior to the control group.FSI before treatment was positively correlated with TNF-α in both groups.Conclusion:In the patient of primary hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy

FSI and TNF-α significantly increase and ISI significantly decreases.FSI and TNF-α influence each other

which are involved in generation and development of hypertension.Yixin Jiangya Capsules has function of improving IR and decreasing TNF-α.
