Effects of Kuijielu Enema on Serum SOD Activity and MDA Content in the Patient of Active Ulcerative Colitis
Objective:To observe effects of enema of Kuijielu on serum SOD activity and MDA content in the patient of active ulcerative colitis.Methods:38 cases were treated with Kuijielu Enema for 2 weeks
and serum SOD and MDA were determined before and after treatment
with 30 healthy persons used as controls. Results:Serum MDA level in the patient of active ulcerative coitis before treatment was significantly higher and the SOD activity was significantly lower than those in the control group(both [WTBX]P<0.01); After treatment
clinical symptoms significantly improved with an effective rate of 86.1%
meanwhile
serum MDA content significantly decreased[WTBX](P<0.01) and SOD activity significantly increased[WTBX](P<0.01).Conclusion:Injury of free radicals is an important factor in the attack of ulcerative colitis
and Kuijielu can decrease free radical level in the patient of ulcerative colitis and has obvious therapeutic effect on ulcerative colitis.
