Objective:To observe effects of Jiangya No.1 Granule with functions of removing blood stasis-turbid and tonifying the liver and kidney on left ventricular hypertrophy （LVH） and left ventricular diastolic function in the patient of hypertension grade II complicated by LVH.Methods:Randomized

double-blind

placebo controlled clinical trial method was adopted.One hundred and fifty-six adult cases of hypertension conformed with the criteria were enrolled in the study.They were randomly divided into treatment group（n=79） treated with Jiangya No.1 and control group（n=76） treated with Jiangya No.2.After treatment of 12 weeks

blood pressure changes and indexes of echocardiogram in patients complicated with LVH were studied and analyzed in both groups.Results:The blood pressure was effectively decreased in both groups with no significant difference （P>0.05）;While the treatment group was superior to the control group in improving structure of left ventricle（P<0.05） and strengthening the amplitude of left ventricular diastolic function（P<0.01）.Conclusion:Therapy for removing blood stasis-turbid and tonifying the liver and kidney can not only effectively decreases blood pressure

but also reverses LVH and increases left ventricular diastolic function

therefore obviously raises quality of life in the patient.
