Observation and Study on the Effect of Auricular Diagnosis for Cervical Spondylosis
Objective To study the effect of auricular diagnosis for cervical spondylosis.-Methods The borderline patients were selected according to the symptoms. The lower 1/5 tuberosity of antihelix of auricle was observed and diagnosed with CR photographic examination. The self-made indices of symptoms
auricular diagnosis and CR examination were adopted. The evaluation criteria given by Practical Clinical Statistics were adopted for the trueness evaluation of diagnosis data.-Results Of the 50 borderline patients
38(76%) were positive in auricular diagnosis and 43(86%) positive in CR examination.Of the 43 cervical spondylosis patients and 7 non-cervical spondylosis patients
the auricular positiveness was 37:1 and the auricular negativeness 6:6.There were 37 patients diagnosed positive and 6 diagnosed negative in both auricular diagnosis and CR examination. The consistency check showed kappa=0.96
the sensitivity was 86.05%
the specificity 85.71%
the misdiagnosis rate 14.29%
the rate of missed diagnosis 13.95%
the diagnostic accordance rate 86%
the diagnostic index 0.7176
and the likelihood ratio 6.02.-Conclusion The auricular diagnosis was characteristically significant in diagnosis of cervical spondylosis.
