The Immediate Effect on Blood Pressue of Acupuncture at Taichong (LR 3) in 65 Cases of Hypertension Patient with Hyperactivity of Liver-yang
Objective To evaluate the immediate effect and the safety of acupuncture at Taichong(LR 3)on blood pressure of hypertension patients with hyperactivity of liver-yang.Methods Acupuncture treatment was done at Taichong(LR 3)of both sides for the 67 patients with hypertension of 1 or 2 degree
once a day for 7 days.Blood pressure was measured once before and 30 minutes after acupuncture respectively everyday
and the observation was carried out to see whether the patients had adverse reactions. Results Compared the systolic pressure and diastolic pressure after acupuncture with before acupuncture
the difference was significant(P<0.01).On the first day of treatment
in the comparison was made according to the grading and grouping of blood pressure
the lowering extent of the group with higher blood pressure was obvious. Conclusion The immediate effect of acupuncture at Taichong(LR 3)is good with few adverse reactions
and the lowering extent is positively related with the blood pressure before acupuncture.
