Study on the Relationship between TCM Syndromes and Brain-gut Peptide of Wilson Disease
Objective To explore the changes of brain-gut peptide in different TCM syndromes of Wlison disease(WD)patients and its significance. Methods The 37 WD patients were divided into 3 subgroups according to TCM syndromes
18 in the group of phlegm-damp obstruction in collaterals
10 in the group of liver and kidney yin deficiency
9 in the group of damp-heat retention. The 18 healthy volunteers were taken in the control group. The plasma cholecystokinin(CCK)
vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP)
somatostatin(SS)and motilin(MTL)of patients were determined by radioimmunoassay(RIA)and compared with those in the healthy persons. Results In the WD patients
CCK of phlegm-damp group was significantly different from that in the control group(P<0.05).VIP and SS of yin deficiency group and damp-heat group were significantly different from those in the control group and group of phlegm-damp obstruction in collaterals(P<0.05 or P<0.01).MTL of yin deficiency group and phlegm-damp group was significantly different from that in the control group(P<0.05 or P<0.01)
and there was a significant difference between the damp-heat group and the phlegm-damp group(P<0.05).Conclusion The brain-gut peptide in WD patients is higher than in healthy people. Some changes of brain-gut peptide are present in different TCM syndromes. The changes of SS and MTL show a syndrome specificity
