Primary Study on the Investigation of TCM Syndromes and Syndrome Elements of Bronchial Asthma during Attack
Objective To discuss and summarize the distribution law of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes and syndrome elements of bronchial asthma during attack. Methods According to present diagnostic criteria of syndromes of asthma
a prospective investigation was carried out in the way of clinical epidemiology.Based on the principle of evidence-based medicine
the database was established with Epidata3.0.The enrolled patients’ information collected with four TCM diagnostic methods was recorded and checked. The analysis on the frequency of TCM syndromes and syndrome elements was made with the software SPSS13.0.Results The most frequent syndrome of asthma was heat syndrome
then
cold syndrome
wind syndrome
and deficient syndrome. The first three syndrome elements of asthma were phlegm
qi stagnation and wind. And the diseased organs were lung
spleen and liver. Conclusion During the attack
the asthma is mainly of heat syndrome accompanied with phlegm and qi stagnation
indicating that the syndrome elements covers well the differentiation of syndromes.
