Objective To study the therapeutic effect of Chinese medicine Fuzheng Kaiqiao Oral Liquid（Oral Liquid for Improving Memory and Performance Function） on cognitive impairment and clinical symptoms of recovering chronic schizophreniacs.Methods The 72 remission inpatients with chronic schizophrenia were randomly assigned to the observation group（n=35） and the control group（n=37）.Both groups were investigated with the Weschler Memory Scale（WMS）

the Wisconsin Card Sort Test（WCST） and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale（PANSS） before and after treatment.Results After treatment

and total memory quotient（MQ） of WMS in the observation group were remarkably increased（P<0.05 or P<0.01）

the scores of sorting numbers and correct response of WCST were significantly increased（P<0.05 or P<0.01）

the total scores of response were greatly decreased（P<0.05）

and the scores of reaction shortage and negative gene of SPSS were tremendously lowered（P <0.05）.There were significant differences in the scores of WMS and WCST and PANSS between the observation and control groups after treatment（P<0.05）.Conclusion Fuzheng Kaiqiao Oral Liquid relieves the cognitive impairment and clinical symptoms of inpatients with chronic schizophrenia.
