Effect of Zhuyun Decoction on the Endometrial Receptivity of Women of Childbearing Age
Objective To study the effect of Zhuyun Decoction (Decoction to promote conception) on the endometrial receptivity of women of childbearing age. Methods Totally 90 women of childbearing age were randomized into 4 groups:normal period group (control)
western drug group (clomiphene + human chorionic gonadotrophin)
integrated Chinese and western medicine group
traditional Chinese medicine group (Zhuyun Decoction). After the 3-month follow-up
the pregnancy rate was recorded
the thickness and type of endometrium was measured by ultrasound examination
estrogen receptor (ER)
progesterone receptor (PR)
integrin β3 mRNA and protein levels were determined by reverse transcription PCR and immunohistochemistry method respectively. Results Compared with the normal period group
the pregnancy rate of the integrated Chinese and western medicine group and traditional Chinese medicine group was increased while that of the western drug group decreased
without significant difference. Compared with the normal period group and integrated Chinese and western medicine group
the thickness of endometrium and ER
PR
β3 mRNA and protein levels in the western drug group significantly decreased while those of the traditional Chinese medicine group significantly increased. Conclusion Zhuyun Decoction can promote the pregnancy rate by increasing the thickness of endometrium and ER
PR
β3 mRNA and protein levels
and antagonize the endometrium impairment caused by clomiphene as well.
