Effect of Puncturing Jing-well Points on Motor Function and Learning-Memory Function in Experimental Rats with Critical Cerebral Traumatic Injury
Objective To observe the effect of puncturing Jing-well points on motor function and learning-memory function of the experimental rats with critical cerebral traumatic injury. Methods The 36 male Wistar rats were randomized into sham-operation group
model group
acupuncture group
and acupuncture plus medicine group.Free falling method was used to make the cerebral traumatic injury models. The acupuncture group was treated by puncturing the 12 Jing-well points and Yongquan(KI 1).The acupuncture plus medicine group was treated by intragastric administration with herbal decoction in addition to acupuncture. The other two groups were with no treatment. The inclined plane test and the Y maze test were carried out respectively at different time points after injury. Results The inclined plane test demonstrated that the difference between the acupuncture group and the model group and between the acupuncutre plus medicine group and the model group at 48h and 72h after cerebral injury was significant(P<0.05).The Y maze test showed that at 48h
7d the difference in learning memory was significant between the acupuncture group and the model group
and between the acupuncture plus medicine groups and the model group
but not significant among the acupuncture group
acupuncture plus medicine group and sham-operation group(P>0.05).Conclusion Puncturing Jing-well points can promote the restore of motor function and improve effectively the learning-memory function of experimental rats with serious cerebral traumatic injury.
