Influence of Guo’s Therapy on the Moderate Osteofluorosis
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Guo’s therapy on the moderate osteofluorosis. Methods Totally 120 patients with moderate osteofluorosis were randomized into treatment group and control group with 60 in each. 24 and 36 weeks after treatment
the patients were evaluated acording to pain visual analogue scale (VAS)
morning stiffness
numbness
tightness sensation
and convulsion by a third part. Results After two weeks of treatment
the VAS score of both groups was significantly decreased (P<0.01); after four weeks of treatment
there was significant difference in VAS between the two groups (P<0.01); two weeks after treatment
the disappearance rate of tightness sensation in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05); eight weeks after treatment
the disappearance rate of morning stiffness and convulsion in the treatment group was higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). However
the disappearance rate of numbness in the two groups was not significantly different (P>0.05). Conclusion Guo’s therapy taking the herbal Strychnos as the main ingredient is effective in improving the symptoms including pain
morning stiffness
numbness
tightness sensation
and convulsion of the patients. It is a good treatment for moderate osteofluorosis.
