Clinical Study on the Chinese Medicine Retention-enema for 97 Patients with Abdominal Allergic Purpura
Objective To observe the effect of Chinese medicine retention-enema on abdominal allergic purpura. Methods The 168 patients were divided into two groups. The Chinese medicine group
97 patients
was treated by Chinese medicine decoction retention-enema. The control group
68 patients
was treated by western medicine in a routine way. The abdominal pain relief and laboratory changes of both groups were observed in 10 days. Results In the Chinese medicine group
the abdominal pain remission rate was 96% in 10 days
while in the control group
it was 85%. The remission rate of Chinese medicine group in the 1st to 3rd day was not as good as that of the control group
but it was better than that of the control group in the 4th to 7th day and 8th to 10th day
the difference was significant (P<0.01). The improvement of laboratory indexes in the Chinese medicine group was significantly better than that in the control group (P<0.05)
on the contrary
there was no significant difference in platelet increase in the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Chinese medicine retention-enema could relieve abdominal pain and improve lab indexes of abdominal allergic purpura patients. It is a safe and convenient therapy.
