Comparative Study on the Effect of Moxibustion with Wheat Grain Sized Cones at Different Dosages for Regulating Blood Fat
Objective To observe the difference and dose-effect relationship of moxibustion with wheat grain sized cones at different dosages for regulating the blood fat in acute hyperlipemia rats. Methods The acute hyperlipemia rat models were made by intraperitoneal injection of yolk emulsion. Totally 72 SD rats were randomized into 6 groups:normal control group
hyperlipemia model group
medicinal treatment group
wheat grain sized 3-Cone moxibustion group
wheat grain sized 6-Cone moxibustion group
and wheat grain sized 9-Cone moxibustion group
12 rats in each group. The moxibustion groups were treated respectively with 3 cones
6 cones
and 9 cones each point per day at Shenque (CV8) and Housanli (ST36). The medicinal treatment group was treated with Lovastatin suspension for gastric injection at the dosage of 10 mg/(kg·d). The treatment lasted for 3 days. After treatment
we tested the serum total cholesterol (TC)
triglyceride (TG)
low density lipoprotein C (LDL-C)
and high density lipoprotein C (HDL-C). Results In the hyperlipemia model group
the serum TC
TG
and LDL-C were all increased
while the HDL-C was decreased. Compared with the normal control group
there was statistical difference(P<0.01). Compared with the hyperlipemia model group
the medicinal treatment group and the moxibustion groups could make the TC
TG
and LDL-C decreased and HDL-C increased with statistical difference (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Of the moxibustion groups
the 6-Cone and 9-Cone groups were superior to the medicinal treatment group and 3-Cone moxibustion group in decreasing TG (P<0.01). The 3-Cone moxibustion group and medicinal treatment group were better than the 6-Cone moxibustion group in increasing HDL-C (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion The moxibustion with wheat grain sized cones at different dosages is all effective in regulating the blood fat in acute hyperlipemia rats. For decreasing TG
the effect of 6-Cone and 9-Cone is the best
and for increasing HDL-C
the effect of 3-Cone and the medicinal treatment is better.
