Objective To observe the influence of Shenqi Powder（Powder of American Ginseng and Noteginseng） on the free fatty acid（FFA） in the blood of type 2 diabetes mellitus（T2DM） patients.Methods Totally 169 T2DM patients were randomized into treatment group（89 cases）

and control group（80 cases）.The treatment group was administered Shenqi Powder for oral taking 5g each time

3 times per day.The control group was medicated with Fenofibrate Capsule 200mg each time

once per day.Both groups were treated for 8 weeks as one course.Before and after treatment

the contents of glycosylated hemoglobin（HbA1c）

fasting blood glucose（FBG）

2-hour blood glucose（2hBG）

triglyceride（TG）

and FFA were determined.At the same time

the body mass index（BMI） was recorded.Results After treatment

the contents of HbA1c

FBG

2hBG and BMI of the treatment group were statistically different from those before treatment（P<0.05 or P<0.01）.The contents of FFA and TG of both groups were statistically different from those before treatment（P<0.05）.While the contents of FFA and TG of both groups were not statistically different after treatment（P<0.05）.Conclusion Shenqi Powder is effective in decreasing the contents of TG

FFA

and blood glucose of T2DM patients.
