Analysis on the Correlation between the Northwest Dryness Syndrome and H ypertension
Objective To analyze the correlation between the hype rtension in Xinj iang area and dryness syndrome in the northwest China in order to provide the ep idemiological basis for making the strategy for the prevention and treatment of hypertension from the treating different diseases with the same therapeutic prin ciple. Methods Totally 102 hypertension patients were attri buted to the case group
those 173 people who were without diseases but with the subhealthy state not e xcluded were put into the control group. The subjects of both groups were analyz ed with the questionnaire on the TCM syndrome score and northwest dryness syndro me score
the suit indices of hypertension with dryness syndrome
and typical co rrelation between the TCM syndromes of hypertension patients and northwest dryne ss syndrome. Results The incidence of northwest dryness syndrome in the case g roup was 31.37%
higher than 16.76% in the control group(P<0.01).The tota l sco re of northwest dryness syndrome in the case group was higher than that in the c ontrol group(P<0.05).The scores of the lung-defensive skin dryness syndr ome
y in deficiency of the heart and kidney syndrome
and damp retention of the spleen and stomach syndrome were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01).The suit indices of pathological conditions of hypertension with the main and accomp anied symptoms of northwest dryness syndrome after the test were all statistical ly significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The result of typical correlation analysis was as following:t he first typical variable r1 = 0.9072(P<0.01)
the load of the deficiency syndrome of both yin and yang of hypertension dependent variable group was the maximum(0.5599) an d the load of the damp retention of the spleen and stomach syndrome of the independe nt variable group was the maximum(0.4191).Conclusion The northwest dryness s yndrome is the accompanied syndrome of the most hypertension patients in the Xin jiang area
and it’s characterized by the typical manifestations of the yin deficiency of the heart and kidney syndrome. All clinical symptoms of hypertension a re correlated with both the main and accompanied symptoms of northwest dryness s yndrome
and the deficiency syndrome of both yin and yang and the syndrome of damp retention of the spleen and stomach were most strongly-correlated with hypertension.
