Comparative Study of Wuling Powder and Wuling Decoction for Nephrotic Syndrome Patients of Water-Damp Collecting Internally Syndrome
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of Wuling Powder(powder of five Poria)and Wuling Decoction(decoction of five Poria)for nephritic syndrome patients of water-damp collecting internally syndrome. Methods Forty-seven nephritic syndrome patients of water-damp collecting internally syndrome were randomized into Wuling Powder group and Wuling Decoction group.Six ca- ses were eliminated or shed off.The valid cases were 41
with 21and 20in the Wuling Powder group and Wuling Decoction group re- spectively.Wuling Powder group was given Wuling Powder
9g once
three times a day.Wuling Decoction group was given Wuling Decoction
one dose daily
taken twice. The treatment lasted for 4weeks.The urinary output
the average body weight
24-hour uri- nary protein quantity(24hUPQ)and plasma albumin(ALB)was observed. Results After treatment
the average urinary output was significantly increased while the body weight was decreased in both groups(P<0.05).The difference between groups in the average u- rinary output and body weight was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in 24hUPQ and ALB be- tween groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Wuling Powder is better at disinhibiting water and dispersing swelling than Wuling Decoction for nephritic syndrome patients of water-damp collecting internally syndrome.
