Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Xiaozheng Decoction（decoction for dispersing concretions）for uterine leiomyoma.Methods 260patients were randomized into treatment group and control group

with 130in each.The treatment group was given Xiaozheng Decoction

twice daily.The control group was given mifepristone

25mg per time

once daily.Both groups were treated for 3months and followed up for 1year.The sizes of uterus and uterine leiomyoma were observed at the beginning and ending of the treatment and after one year’s follow-up.The relationship between leomyoma size and therapeutic effect was observed as well.The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale（SAS）was used to score and hemoglobin was detected. Results The uterus and uterine leiomyoma minished significantly in both groups after treatment（P<0.05）.After one year’s follow-up

the size of uterus and uterine leiomyoma in the treatment group was significantly smaller than that in the control group（P<0.05）.After treatment

the diameter of the largest leiomyoma was significantly shorter than that before treatment in both groups（P<0.05）.After one year’s follow-up

the diameter of the largest leiomyoma in the treatment group was significantly shorter than that in the control group（P<0.05）.The SAS score decreased and the content of hemoglobin increased significantly in the treatment group（P<0.05or P<0.01）

with significant difference between groups（P<0.05or P<0.01）.The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group was 86.92%and 75.38%respectively

with significant difference（P<0.05）.Conclusion Both Xiaozheng Decoction and mifepristone could reduce the size of uterus and uterine leiomyoma.Xiaozheng Decoction has a better effect in eliminating anxiety and improving anaemia with lower recrudescence rate as compared with mifepristone.
