Objective To observe the effect of Bufei Granules（gr anules to suppleme nt the lung） on quality of life（QOL） in patients with stable chronic obstructiv e pulmonary disease（COPD）.Methods Totally 130 stable COPD patients were randomized into treatment group of 69 cases and control group of 61 cases.The treatment group was given Bufei Granules and the control group was g iven placebo.The treatment course lasted for 30 days.The therapeutic effect an d QOL were analyzed and assessed according to the St George’s Respiratory Questio nnaire（SGRQ） before and after the treatment.Results T he total effective rate o f the treatment group and the control group was 53.62% and 21.31% respectively

with significant difference between groups（P<0.05）.After treatment

the sc ores of each part and total scores were significantly decreased in both groups a ccording to the SGRQ（P<0.05）.After treatment

limitation of activity and the total scores in the treatment group was s ignificantly lower than those in the control group according to the SGRQ（P< 0.05）.There was no significant difference in the effect on disease between groups a ccording to the SGRQ after the treatment（P>0.05）.Conclusi on Bufei Gr anules could obviously relieve symptoms and improve QOL of stable COPD patients.
