Long-Term Effect of Qi-Blood Regulation Formula Combined with West ern Medicine on 60 Patients with Arteriosclerosis Obliterans after Femoral Artery Stenting
Objective To observe the effect of Qi-Blood Regulation Formula on arteriosclerosis obliterans(ASO) after the femoral artery stenting. Methods Totally 120 ASO patients(142 limbs) after femoral artery stenting were rand omized into Chinese medication group(60 cases
72 diseased limbs) and control gr oup(60 cases
70 diseased limbs). Both groups were given antiplatelet drugs and Qi-Blood Regulation Formula was added in the Chinese medication group.Intermittent clau dication
rest pain
amputation rate
ankle branch index(ABI) and vascular patency rate were observed. Results Comparing in group
intermittent clau dication and rest pain relieved significantly in both groups 6
12 or 24 months later(P<0.01).There was no significant difference between groups in the r elief of intermittent claudication and rest pain 6 or 12 months later(P>0.05). Intermittent claudication significantly relieved in the Chinese medication group as c ompared with the control group 24 months later(P<0.05).The target artery patency rate of the Chinese medication group and the control group was 83%(45/54) and 88%(46/52) respectively 6 months later
69%(37/54) and 81%(42/52) respectively 12 months later
and 5 4%(29/54) and 77%(40/52) respectively 24 months later. There was no significan t difference between groups in the target artery patency rate 6 or 12 months lat er(P>0.05).The target artery patency rate in the Chinese medication group was significantly higher than that in the control group 24 months later(P<0.05).Co mparing in group
ABI was significantly improved in both groups 6
12 or 24 mont hs later(P<0.01).There was no significant difference between groups in AB I 6 m onths later(P>0.05).The ABI in the Chinese medication group was significa ntly increased than that in the control group 12 or 24 months later(P<0.05).Conclusion Qi-Blood Regulation Formula is effective in improving the target artery pat ency rate after the femoral artery stenting and relieving the symptoms of lower l imb ischemia.
