Clinical Observation on Fumigation under Partial Pressure with Chinese Medicine for 40 Cases of Shoulder-Hand Syndrome
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of fumigation under partial pressure with Chinese medicine for shoulder-hand syndrome in stroke patients. Methods Eighty inpatients from the rehabilitation ward in our hospital were randomized into the treatment group and the control group with 40 in each. Both groups were given rehabilitation therapy
and fumigation under partial pressure with Chinese medicine was added in the treatment group.Upper extremity pain
shoulder range of motion and Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA) were observed in both groups. Results Upper extremity pain was relieved and shoulder range of motion and FMA was improved significantly in both groups after the treatment(P<0.05)
especially in the treatment group(P<0.01).Conclusion Fumigation under partial pressure with Chinese medicine is effective for shoulder-hand syndrome in stroke patients in relieving pain
improving shoulder mobility function and the quality of life.
