The Combination Rule of Chinese Medicine Syndrome Elements in Pneumonia: Based on the Literature Study
Objective To investigate the correlation between syndrome elements and diagnostic indicators in pneumonia. Methods The distribution characteristics
syndrome elements and combination rule of Chinese medicine syndrome in pneumonia patients were analyzed with computer and manual search. Results The top 10 syndromes in descending order of the frequency were as following: wind-heat assailing the lung
phlegm-heat congesting the lung
both qi and yin deficiency
heat entering the pericardium
evil entering and right desertion
evil heat congesting the lung
wind-cold fettering the lung
phlegm-damp obstructing the lung
wind-dryness damaging the lung and exterior cold and interior heat. In the syndrome composition
repletion syndrome and deficiency-repletion complex syndrome accounted for the majority. Both the repletion syndrome and the deficiency syndrome were more than the deficiency-repletion complex syndrome
especially the repletion syndrome. The simple syndrome was less. The common syndrome elements of pneumonia were the lung in disease location
heat and phlegm turbidity in disease nature and wind and heat in pathogen. Conclusion The syndrome elements and diagnostic indicators in pneumonia could be initially identified to improve the clinical level and the quality of life in patients.
