Effect of Chinese Medicinal Granules on Dyslipidemia Associated with Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy:a Multi-Centered,Randomize-Controlled Trial
Objective To observe the effect and safety of Chinese Medicinal Granules and Xuezhikang Capsule(capsule for dyslipidemia)for dyslipidemia associated with highly active antiretroviral therapy(HAART).Methods Totally 180cases of dyslipidemia associated with HAART were randomized into the treatment group(115cases)and the control group(55cases).A multi-center and randomize-controlled method was used.In the treatment group
patients of middle deficiency and phlegm obstruction syndrome were given Xiaozhi Granule(Fat Removing Granules)
those of obstruction of phlegm and stasis sydnrome were given prescribed grancules based on Erchen Decoction(Two Matured Ingredients Decoction)and Taohong Siwu Decoction(Peach seed and safflower Decoction of Four Ingredients).Total cholesterol(TC)
triglyceride(TG)
low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)were observed before and 4
8
12weeks after treatment.Results After 12weeks of treatment
there were significant differences between groups in TC and LDL-C(P< 0.05).There was significant difference between groups in HDL-C after 12weeks of treatment as compared with before treatment.Clinical control rate and markedly-effective rate between groups was significant. Conclusion Xuezhikang Capsule
Xiaozhi Granules and integrated granules of Erchen Decoction and Taohong Siwu Decoction could be used to prevent and control dyslipidemia associated with HARRT.
