Clinical Observation on Cyclocryotherapy and Trabeculectomy Combined with Wufeng Jueming and Raw Typha Decoction for 15 Cases of Neovascular Glaucoma
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of cyclocryotherapy and trabeculectomy combined with decoction based on Wufeng Jueming Pill(pill of Concha Haliotidis for glaucoma)and Raw Typha Decoction(decoction of raw Pollen Typhae)for neovascular glaucoma. Methods Thirty cases of neovascular glaucoma were randomized into test group and control group
with 15in each. The test group was given combo therapy of cyclocryotherapy
trabeculectomy and the decoction. The control group was treated with cyclocryotherapy
trabeculectomy and mecobalamin tablets. The treatment course lasted for 2weeks.The intraocular pressure(IOP)
eyesight and iris neovascularization were observed. Results There were significant differences between groups in IOP after one month or six months of treatment(P<0.01).There were 8cases(53.33%)improved
5cases(33.33%)stable and 2cases(13.34%)decreased in the eyesight after 6months in the test group. There were 6cases(40.00%)improved
6cases(40.00%)stable and 3cases(20.00%)decreased in the eyesight after 6months in the control group. There was no significant difference between groups in the eyesight after treatment(P>0.05).There were 9cases(60.00%)of complete regression of iris neovascularization
4cases(26.67%)of partial regression of iris neovascularization and 2cases(13.33%)without regression of iris neovascularization after 6months in the test group. There were 3cases(20.00%)of complete regression of iris neovascularization
7cases(46.67%)of partial regression of iris neovascularization and 5cases(33.33%)without regression of iris neovascularization after 6months in the control group. There was a significant difference between groups in the regression of iris neovascularization after treatment(P<0.05).Conlcusion The combo therapy of cyclocryotherapy
trabeculectomy
Wufeng Jueming and Raw Typha Decoction is effective for neovascular glaucoma with controlling the IOP
relieving the pain and promoting the regression of iris neovascularization.
