A Clinical Observation on Combination Therapy for 115 Cases of Nerve-Root Type Cervical Spondylosis with Wind-Cold-Damp Syndrome
Objective To research the therapeutic effect and safety of combination therapy for nerve-root type cervical spondylosis with wind-cold-damp syndrome. Methods Totally 115 cases of nerve-root type cervical spondylosis with wind-cold-damp syndrome were randomized into treatment group 1(39 cases)
treatment group 2(39 cases) and treatment group 3(37 cases).Treatment group 1 was given cervical traction
Chinese herb fumigation and manipulation therapy.Treatment group 2 was given cervical traction and Chinese herb fumigation.Treatment group 3 was given cervical traction and manipulation therapy. The treatment lasted for 15 days. The scores of symptoms and signs were observed and recorded before treatment
after one week of treatment
at the end of treatment and one month after the end of treatment. The therapeutic effect
side effect and safety were observed. Results There was no significant difference between groups in the scores of symptoms and signs(P>0.05).There was a significant difference between the four time points in the scores of signs and symptoms(P<0.05).Further pairwise comparisons showed there was a significant difference between any two time points in the scores of signs and symptoms(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between groups in the therapeutic effect and safety(P>0.05).There was no serious adverse event in three groups. Conclusion Three combination therapies of cervical traction
Chinese herb fumigation and manipulation are effective equally and all safe for nerve-root type cervical spondylosis with wind-cold-damp syndrome.
