Effect of Supplemented Wuzi Yanzong Decoction on the Quality of Sperm and Secretion of Seminal Fructose
Objective To observe the effect of Supplemented Wuzi Yanzong Decoction (Supplemented Five-Seed Progeny Decoction) on sperm motility and secretion of seminal fructose. Methods Totally 192 patients with low-quality sperm motility were randomized into treatment group of 97 cases and control group of 95 cases. The treatment group was given Supplemented Wuzi Yanzong Decoction one dose daily. The control group was given Liuwei Dihuang Pill 6g once
three times daily. One treatment course lasted for 3 months. The therapeutic effect
sperm motility and neutral α-glucosidase were observed. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group was 81.44% and 57.89% respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.01). The sperm motility improved significantly in both groups after treatment (P<0.05 or P<0.01)
especially in the treatment group (P<0.05). The content of seminal fructose and the level of α-glycosidase improved significantly after treatment in the treatment group (P<0.05).Conclusion Supplemented Wuzi Yanzong Decoction can improve the sperm motility and increase the secretion of seminal fructose.
