Effect of Qi-Boosting Blood-Quickening Method on Coagulation Indicators and Plasma Protein in Artificial Joint Replacement Patients
Objective To observe the effect of qi-boosting blood-quickening method on the coagulation indicators and plasma protein in artificial joint replacement patients and its possible mechanism of preventing deep vein thrombosis. Methods Sixty artificial joint replacement patients were divided into treatment group and control group
with 30 in each. The control group was subcutaneously injected with 4100IU low molecular heparin calcium injection once daily for two weeks after operation. The treatment group was orally taken medicine based on qi-boosting blood-quickening method one dose daily from 3 days before operation to 2 weeks after operation in addition to treatment in the control group. The fibrinogen (FIB)
activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)
plasma protein S and protein C were detected in both groups. The incidence of deep vein thrombosis and postoperative drainage volume was observed. Results The FIB was significantly decreased in the treatment group after operation (P<0.05). Comparing with the control group
the FIB in the treatment group was significantly decreased at the same time point both in the morning of operation and after operation (P<0.05 or P<0.01). There was no significant difference between groups in APTT at the same time point (P>0.05). There was a significant difference between groups in protein C in the morning of operation (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in protein S as compared within group or between groups (P>0.05). The incidence of deep vein thrombosis in the treatment group and control group was 3.3% and 10.0% respectively
with no significant difference between groups (P>0.05). There was no significant difference between groups in the average postoperative drainage volume (P>0.05).Conclusion Qi-boosting blood-quickening medicinal can effectively prevent deep vein thrombosis
which may be relevant to decreasing FIB and activating protein C.
