A Clinical Observation on Spleen-Fortifying Lung-Supplementing Treatment for 60 Cases of Post-Infectious Airway Hyperresponsiveness Cough
Objective To research the therapeutic effect of spleen-fortifying lung-supplementing treatment for post-infectious airway hyperresponsiveness cough. Methods Ninety cases of post-infectious airway hyperresponsiveness cough were randomized into the treatment group and control group
with 60 and 30 in each. The treatment group was given spleen-fortifying lung-supplementing and exterior-securing cough-suppressing formula one package and twice daily. The control group was given Brown Mixture (compound Glycyrrhiza mixture
BM). The comprehensive efficacy
individual symptoms and airway responsiveness were observed before and after treatment. Results The significant control rate and total effective rate of disease in the treatment group and control group were 90.00%
100%
50.00% and 80.00% respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). The significant control rate and total effective rate of cough in the treatment group and control group was 90.00%
100%
63.33% and 80.00% respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). The significant control rate and total effective rate of itchy throat in the treatment group and control group was 95.00%
100%
60.00% and 80.00% respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). The significant control rate and total effective rate of airway responsiveness in the treatment group and control group was 90.00%
100%
66.67% and 80.00% respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). The negative conversion rate of airway hyperresponsiveness in the treatment group and control group was 75.00% (45/60) and 40.00% (12/30) respectively
with a significant difference between groups (P<0.05). Conclusion The spleen-fortifying lung-supplementing treatment for post-infectious airway hyperresponsiveness cough can effectively relieve symptoms and airway hyperresponsiveness.
