Clinical Observation on Modified Jinfeicao Powder Combined With Western Medicine for 42 Cases of Cough Variant Asthma
Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of modified Jinfeicao Powder( Inula Powder) on cough variant asthma. Methods Totally 82 cases of cough variant asthma were randomized into the treatment group of 42 cases and control group of 40 cases. The control group was inhaled with Salmeterol / fluticasone propionate dry powder twice daily. The treatment group was added with modified Jinfeicao Powder one dose daily. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 8-week treatment. The cough scores and peak expiratory flow rates( PEFRs) were observed before and after treatment in both groups. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group was 90. 48% and 67. 50% respectively
with a significant difference between groups( P < 0. 05). The cough scores and PEFRs were significantly decreased in both groups after treatment( P < 0. 05)
especially in the treatment group( P <0. 05). Conclusion Jinfeicao Powder combined with salmeterol/fluticasone can obviously relieve the symptoms of cough variant asthma and decrease PEFR.
