Clinical Observation on Integrative Medicine for 60 Cases of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Pulmonary Heart Disease Complicated by Gastrointestinal Symptoms
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of integrative medicine for acute exacerbation of chronic pulmonary heart disease(CPHD) complicated by gastrointestinal symptoms. Methods Totally 120 cases of acute exacerbation of CPHD complicated by gastrointestinal symptoms were randomized into treatment group and control group
with 60 in each. The control group was given basic western medicine treatment and 10mg domperidone tablets three times daily. The treatment group was added with TCM formula based on syndrome identification. The therapeutic effect was evaluated after 7-day treatment. The scores of TCM syndrome were observed before and after treatment. Side effects and therapeutic effect were evaluated. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group was 91. 67% and 71. 67% respectively
with significant difference between groups(P < 0. 01). The scores of all symptoms were significantly decreased in the treatment group(P < 0. 01). After treatment
the scores of stomach pain
poor appetite
bitter mouth
dry mouth
nausea
vomiting and gastric upset in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0. 01). The total score of TCM patterns was significantly decreased after treatment in the treatement group(P < 0. 01). Conclusion The integrative medicine is effective and safe for acute exacerbation of CPHD complicated by gastrointestinal symptoms and it can relieve gastrointestinal symptoms.
