Effects of Qingjian Granules on the Body Fat and High-Sensitivity C-reactive Protein in Rats with Nutrition Obesity
Objective To observe the lipid-lowering effects and possible mechanism of Qingjian Granules(轻健颗粒) on rats with nutrition obesity. Methods Eighty 21-day-old male SD rats just after weaning were randomized into the blank control group of 10 cases and high-fat modeling group of 70 cases. The blank control group was given basal diet. The high-fat modeling group was given high fat diet to establish nutrition obesity models. Eight weeks later
forty rat models were randomized into the model control group and Qingjian Granules high-dose
middle-dose and low-dose groups
with 10 in each. The rats in Qingjian Granules high-dose
middle-dose and low-dose groups were gavaged with 34. 5 g /(kg·d)
17. 25 g /(kg·d) and 8. 55 g /( kg·d) of Qingjian Granules respectively. The rats in blank control group and model control group were gavaged with equal volume of normal saline for 8 weeks. The body weight and body fat weight were measured. The Lee’ s index was calculated. The levels of total cholesterol(TC)
triglyceride(TG)
low density lipoprotein(LDL)
high density lipoprotein(HDL) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP) were detected. Results Comparing with the model groups
the weight
body fat weight
Lee’s index
TC
TG
LDL and hs-CRP were significantly decreased but the HDL levels were significantly increased in the Qingjian Granules high-dose
middle-dose and low-dose groups(P < 0. 01). Conclusion Qingjian Granules can reduce the weight and body fat weight of rats with nutrition obesity
which may be relevant to regulating the levels of blood lipids and hs-CRP.
