Effects of Heat-Clearing Dampness-Drying Blood-Cooling Formula on the Repair in Colon Tissue of Rats with Ulcerative Colitis
Objective To study the possible mechanism of Heat-Clearing Dampness-Drying Blood-Cooling Formula( HDBF) for ulcerative colitis( UC). Methods Forty SD rats were randomized into the normal group
model group
Etiasa group and Chinese medicine group
with 10 in each. The rat models of UC were established in the model group
Etiasa group and Chinese medicine group. The normal group and model group were lavaged with normal saline once daily 24 hours later. The Etiasa group was lavaged with Etiasa and Chinese medicine group was lavaged with HDBF once daily 24 hours later. The lavation lasted for 15 days. The colon tissue specimens were observed. The expressions of CK20
CK20 mRNA
CD34
CD34 mRNA and nuclear factor-κB( NF-κB) mRNA were detected. Results The expressions of CK20
CK20 mRNA
CD34 and CD34 mRNA in the model group
Etiasa group and Chinese medicine group were significantly higher than those in the normal group( P < 0. 01). The expressions of CK20
CK20 mRNA
CD34 and CD34 mRNA in the Etiasa group and Chinese medicine group were significantly higher than those in the model group( P < 0. 01). The expression of NF-κB mRNA in the Etiasa group and Chinese medicine group was significantly lower than that in the model group( P < 0. 01). Conclusion HDBF can promote epithelial repair and angiogenesis in colon tissue of UC rats and inhibit the expression of NF-κB
