Study on Syndrome Distribution of Coronary Heart Disease Based on Hospital Information System
Objective To analyze the TCM syndrome distribution characteristics of coronary heart disease( CHD) based on electronic medical data. Methods The information of CHD patients was collected from hospital information system( HIS) in 17 tertiary hospitals from January 2008 to December 2010. Frequency analysis method was adopted to descriptively analyze the general data and TCM syndrome information of patients included. Results Totally 84 697 CHD patients were included
of which 2 217 had admitting TCM syndrome diagnosis with the top three syndromes of qi-yin deficiency( 1 360 cases
61. 34%)
qi deficiency with blood stasis( 332 cases
14. 98%) and obstruction of phlegm and stasis( 208 cases
9.38%). Blood stasis was the most frequent syndrome factor( 2 144times)
and 7 099 cases had discharge TCM syndrome diagnosis with the top three syndromes of qi-yin deficiency(2397 cases
33.77%)
qi deficiency with blood stasis( 2013 cases
28.36%) and obstruction of phlegm and stasis( 1205 cases
16.97%). Blood stasis was the most frequent syndrome factor( 5677 times). In both male and female patients
the top three admitting and discharge syndromes were also qi-yin deficiency
qi deficiency with blood stasis and obstruction of phlegm and stasis. However
there were more female( 779 cases
64. 92%) qi-yin deficiency patients than male( 493 cases
56. 67%) with admitting diagnosis. The number of female( 193 cases
16. 08%) patients with qi deficiency and blood stasis was larger than male( 116 cases
13. 33%). There were more female( 1 420 cases
36. 82%) qi-yin deficiency patients than male( 857 cases
26. 08%) with discharge diagnosis. In patients with obstruction of phlegm and stasis
female number( 521 cases
13. 51%) was less than male( 671 cases
21. 99%). In the age group 25 to 44
45 to 59 and 60 to 74
the top three admitting syndromes were all qi-yin deficiency
obstruction of phlegm and stasis and qi deficiency with blood stasis. In the patients aged from 75 to 89 and above 90
the top three main syndromes were all qi-yin deficiency
qi deficiency with blood stasis and yang-qi excessive deficiency. In the age group 25 to 44
45 to 59
60 to 74 and 75 to 89
the top three main discharge syndromes were qi-yin deficiency
obstruction of phlegm and stasis
and qi deficiency with blood stasis. In patients aged above90 years old
the top three main syndromes were qi-yin deficiency
qi deficiency with blood stasis and yang-qi excessive deficiency. Conclusion TCM syndromes of qi-yin deficiency and qi deficiency with blood stasis are most commonly seen in CHD patients. Blood stasis is the main syndrome factor. In female and old patients
deficiency syndrome is common
while excess syndrome is remarkable in male and young patients.
