Analysis on Attack and TCM Syndrome Feature of Community Acquired Pneumonia on the Basis of HIS
Objective To study the distribution features of demography
TCM syndromes
disease onset and death of community acquired pneumonia( CAP) in 24 solar terms and 12 two-hour periods under current medical situation. Methods The information of CAP patients in 20 tertiary A hospitals nationwide from January 2008 to December 2010 was collected on the basis of hospital information system( HIS). After the data was normalized
the general information and TCM syndrome information was extracted for frequency statistics. At the same time
a radar map was drawn to make correlation analysis between disease onset and death and solar terms and hours. Results A total of 33 123 patients
19 559 were male and 11 578 were female
were included. The median age was 31 years old. There were 6 465 patients aged younger then 12 years old
2 852 aged from 13 to 45 3 422 aged from 46 to 65
and 6274 aged above 66 years old. The top three syndromes of 459 patients with TCM syndrome diagnosis were wind-heat blocking the lung( 109 cases
23. 75%)
wind-cold invading the lung( 97 cases
21. 13%) and accumulation of phlegm dampness in lung( 95 cases
20. 74%). Radar map of admission and death time showed that hospitalized and death cases of CAP in winter were more than those in other seasons. In 12 two-hour periods of the day
death cases were dramatically increased in Shen period( from 3 pm to 5 pm) and You period( from 5 pm to 7 pm). Conclusion Most CAP patients are under 12 years old or above 65 years old or male. In winter
it is the high-occurrence time of hospitalization and death. The main TCM syndrome is excess syndrome and wind-heat blocking the lung and accumulation of phlegm dampness in lung are commonly seen.
