Influence Factor Analysis on 3-year Recurrence and Metastasis in High-Risk Postoperative Breast Cancer Patients
Objective To explore the influence factors on tumor recurrence and metastasis in high-risk postoperative breast cancer patients. Methods A multi-center prospective study with 210 cases of high-risk postoperative breast cancer was conducted. Single factor analysis was applied on the factors relevant to 3-year recurrence rate including onset age
menstruation
pathological type
clinical stage
hormone receptor of breast cancer tissue and treatment measures( chemotherapy regimen
chemotherapy cycle
endocrine drugchoice
and acceptance of TCM treatment). Results No significant correlations were found between the 3-year recurrence-metastasis rate and age
menstruation
estrogen receptor
progesterone receptor
and pathological type( P > 0. 05). Analysis on clinical stage showed that the recurrence and metastasis rate in stage Ⅲc cases was significantly higher than that in stages IIa and IIb( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). The volume of the tumor and the number of lymph node metastasis were positively correlated to the 3-year recurrence rate( P < 0. 05). As for treatment factors
the 3-year recurrence rate in patients adopted TCM treatment based on syndrome differentiation was significantly lower than those with no TCM treatment( P < 0. 01). Stratified analysis showed that after TCM treatment
the 3-year recurrence and metastasis rate in cases in stage Ⅲc
with metastasis in more than 9 lymph nodes
and with human epidermal growth factor receptor-2( Cerb-2) negative was significantly decreased( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). But no significant correlation was found between factors such as adjuvant chemotherapy regimen
number of cycles
selection of endocrine therapy
etc. and 3-year recurrence and metastasis rate( P > 0. 05). Conclusion The major influence factors on tumor recurrence and metastasis in patients with breast cancer were clinical stages
lymph nodes metastasis
volume of the tumor and whether took TCM treatments.
