Comparison of Antipyretic Effects of Ganmao Tuire Yin and Jinhua Qinggan Granules in Treating InfluenzaLike Illness( ILI)
Objective To compare the antipyretic effects of Ganmao Tuire Yin( GMTRY) and Jinhua Qinggan Granules( JHQGKL) in treating influenza-like illness( ILI). Methods Seventy cases of ILI patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group each with 35 cases. The observation group were given GMTRY
while control group received JHQGKL
one dose each time
twice daily for both groups. The temperature before medication and temperature changes of every 6 h after were recorded. The medication was withdrawn when axillary temperature dropped below 37. 3℃ with no rebounce. The number of days from the first day of medication to the withdrawal was defined as defervescence-day. The cumulative sum of the duration time of fever was defined as fevertime. Results The fever-time of the observation group was( 20. 34 ± 13. 85) h and that of the control group was( 36. 69 ± 18. 72) h. Fever-time of the control group was significantly longer than that of the observation group( P <0. 05). The defervescence-time of the observation group was( 0. 90 ± 0. 61) d and that of the control group was( 1. 62 ± 0. 76) d. The defervescence-time of the control group was significantly longer than the observation group( P < 0. 05). Six hours after the treatment
the body temperature was significantly decreased in both groups( P <0. 05). The temperature on 18
24
30
36
42 hours after the treatment of the observation group was significantly lower than those of the control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion GMTRY could notedly reduce the fever time of ILI patients compared with JHQGKL.
