Objective To observe clinical effects of Xuanfei Qufeng Decoction（ Lung-Diffusing and Wind-Dispelling Decoction

宣肺 祛 风 汤） in treating allergic couch with wind and phlegm adhering lung syndrome in children.Methods 80 cases of children suffering from allergic couch with wind phlegm adhering lung syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group and control group

with 40 cases in each. The treatment group was given Xuanfei Qufeng Decoction. The control group was given Ambrocol and Clarityne for treatment. Course of treatment for two groups was both 7 days. Major symptom scores and minor symptom score of patients in two groups before and after treatment were compared

and it’s the clinical effects were evaluated. Results After treatment in the treatment group

there were12 cases under clinical controlled

14 cases with remarkable effect

6 cases with effect

and 8 cases with no effect

with total effective rates of 80. 00%; In the control group

there were 7 cases under clinical controlled

8 cases with remarkable effect

13 cases with effect

and 12 cases with no effect

with total effective rates of 70. 00%. Treatment group was superior to control group（ P < 0. 05）. Major symptom scores and total symptom scores all decreased remarkably in both groups compared with that before treatment（ P < 0. 05）; Major symptom scores and total symptom scores of treatment group remarkably decreased compared with that of the control group（ P < 0. 05）

while there were no statistically significant difference in minor symptom scores between two groups. Conclusion Xuanfei Qufeng Decoction could effectively improve symptoms of children suffering from allergic couch with wind and phlegm-adhering lung syndrome. Particularly

it improves symptoms of couching and expectoration more remarkably.
