Effect of Fire Needle Therapy on Blood Flow Velocity of Deep Vein in Lower Extremity of Cerebral Infarction Patients
Objective To observe the effect of fire needle therapy on blood flow velocity of lower extremity and limbs function of cerebral infarction( CI) patients. Methods Ninety CI patients collected were randomly divided into control group and treatment group
each of 45 cases. Control group was given routine needle therapy
and treatment group was given fire needle therapy. Xuehai( SP10)
Zusanli( ST36)
Yanglingquan( GB34) and Taichong( LR3) of affected side were selected. Quick needling method was adopted. Pull out needles quickly after inserting 1to 1. 5 Cun( 寸)
without needle retaining. Both groups were treated once a day
5 times each week
for 2 weeks.Doppler ultrasonography was applied to measure the peak flow
mean velocity and mean blood flow of blood in affected side lower extremity vein before and after treatment. National Institute of Health stroke scale( NIHSS) was adopted to evaluate degree of nervous functional defects of patients
modified Barthel index( MBI) to evaluate patients’ activities of daily living. Results After treatment
peak flow in treatment group was significantly increased( P < 0. 05).Peak flow of blood in affected side lower extremity in treatment group was superior to that in control group( P <0. 05). The difference of peak flow before and after treatment in treatment group was superior to that in control group( P < 0. 05). Mean velocity and mean blood flow in both groups before and after treatment had no significant difference( P > 0. 05). After treatment
NIHSS and MBI scores in both groups were improved( P < 0. 05). NIHSS score between two groups after treatment had no significant difference( P > 0. 05). MBI score in treatment group was higher than that in control group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Fire needle therapy might increase blood flow velocity of extremity deep vein and improve limbs motor function of CI patients.
