Objective To observe the effects of Duanteng Yimu Decoction（ 断藤益母汤） on ovarian function of female patients at children-bearing age with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods Sixty cases of female patients at childrenbearing age with rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into experimental group and control group

with 30 cases in each. Experimental group was given Duanteng Yimu Decoction

1 dose a day. Control group was given Methotrexate tablets

10 mg per time

once per week. Treatment course of two groups was both 3 menstrual cycles. After treatment

menstrual conditions were compared between the two groups. Serum levels of follicle-stimulating hormone（ FSH）

luteinizing hormone（ LH）

estradiol（ E2）

anti-mullerian hormone（ AMH）

endometrial thickness

uterus and ovaries volume

antral follicle count

uterus and ovarian artery resistance indexes were tested before and after treatment. Results Menstrual disorder rate in experiment group was higher than that in control group（ P < 0. 01）; Levels of FSH and LH in experiment group increased remarkably

while E2 and AMH remarkably decreased after treatment compared with that before treatment（ P < 0. 01）. There was no significant difference in levels of FSH

E2

and AMH in control group between before and after treatment（ P > 0. 05）. Differences are statistically significant when comparing levels of FSH

LH

E2

and AMH in experimental group and control group after treatment（ P <0. 05）. Antral follicle resistance indexes and ovarian artery resistance indexes in experimental group increased compared with that in control group（ P <0. 05）. Conclusion Duanteng Yimu Decoction can decrease ovarian reserve function of female patients at childrenbearing age with rheumatoid arthritis

and it should be carefully used clinically.
