Clinical Observation on Dredging Collaterals and Restoring Consciousness Acupuncture Method Combined with Stone Needle in Treating 58 Cases of Cervical Spondylosis of Vertebral Artery Type
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of dredging collaterals and restoring consciousness acupuncture method combined with stone needle treating cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type( CSA). Methods Collected 173 CSA patients
who were randomized into acupuncture and stone needle group( 58 cases)
acupuncture group( 58 cases) and the control group( 57 cases). The control group was given common acupuncture treatment
bilateral Fengchi( GB20)
Baihui( DU20)
bilateral Lieque( LU7) and paravertebral points of affected side were selected. Retain needles for 30 min after developing needle sensation. Acupuncture and stone needle group was given dredging collaterals and restoring consciousness acupuncture method combined with stone needle. Main points were Fengfu( DU16)
Dazhui( DU14)
bilateral Fengchi( GB20)
bilateral Tianzhu( BL10) and bilateral Jianjing( GB21). Twirl
lift and thrust for 10 using catharsis method. Add Dong’s extra acupoints according to symptoms and signs. Retain needles for 30 min after developing needle sensation. Based on acupuncture
press and knead Bailao( EX-HN15)
Dazhu( BL11)
Jianjing( GB21)
cervical paravertebral points and painful part adopting pisciform multifunctional needle stone plate. Treat for 20- 30 min each time. Acupuncture group was given dredging collaterals and restoring consciousness acupuncture method treatment only. All groups were treated once each day. There was a2-day break after treating continuously for 5 times. One course included 10 times and treated for 2 courses. Compare the changes of patients’ vertigo
pain
nausea
vomiting
paravertebral tender points and revolve-cervix test score in each group before and after treatment. Observe the clinical effect. Results Total effective rate in acupuncture and stone needle group was 84. 48%
acupuncture group 79. 31%. Both were obviously higher than 66. 67% in the control group( P < 0. 05). The clinical effect in acupuncture and stone needle group and acupuncture group had no significant difference( P > 0. 05). Single item scores of symptoms and signs and total scores in acupuncture and stone needle group and acupuncture group were improved after treatment( P < 0. 01). Single item scores of vertigo
headache
nausea and vomiting and total scores in acupuncture and stone needle group were much lower than those in the control group( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). Single item score of paravertebral tender points and total scores in acupuncture and stone needle group were much lower than those in acupuncture group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Dredging collaterals and restoring consciousness acupuncture method combined with stone needle treating CSA was effective and could improve clinical symptoms.
