Retrospective Analysis on Characteristics of Syndrome and Pathogenesis of Diabetic Kidney Disease
Objective To make preliminary summary on characteristics of syndrome and pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease(DKD)by retrospectively analyzing common syndrome elements of clinical data. Methods Chinese medicine syndrome questionnaires of patients participating in the DKD clinical research at enrollment were analyzed retrospectively
which was conducted during the period of the "Tenth Five-Year"national science and technology key problems plan and the "Eleventh Five-Year"national science and technology support plan.Syndrome elements differentiation was made on patients’ symptoms.Descriptive analysis was made on distribution of common syndrome elements in different stages by the method of frequency analysis. Results Totally 544 patients were included.Among them
152 patients were in the early stage
112 in clinical stage with normal kidney function
195 in renal insufficiency compensation stage
85 in renal insufficiency decompensated stage. The syndrome elements distribution of early stage patients was Qi deficiency syndrome(71.7%)
Yin deficiency syndrome(66.4%)
Yang deficiency syndrome(50.1%)
blood stasis syndrome(48.0%)
phlegm-dampness syndrome(45.4%)
damp pathogen syndrome(25.7%)
blood deficiency syndrome(19.1%).The syndrome elements distribution of clinical stage patients with normal kidney function was Qi deficiency syndrome(71.4%)
Yin deficiency syndrome(59.8%)
Yang deficiency syndrome(58.0%)
blood stasis syndrome(51.8%)
phlegm-dampness syndrome(43.8%)
blood deficiency syndrome(20.5%)
damp pathogen syndrome(8.0%).The syndrome elements distribution of renal insufficiency compensation stage patients was Qi deficiency syndrome(77.9%)
Yang deficiency syndrome(70.8%)
blood stasis syndrome(66.2%)
phlegm-dampness syndrome(54.9%)
Yin deficiency syndrome(52.8%)
damp pathogen syndrome(29.7%)
blood deficiency syndrome(28.2%).The syndrome elements distribution of renal insufficiency decompensated stage patients was Yang deficiency syndrome(80.0%)
Qi deficiency syndrome(71.8%)
blood stasis syndrome(62.4%)
Yin deficiency syndrome(52.9%)
phlegm-dampness syndrome(48.2%)
blood deficiency syndrome(32.9%)
damp pathogen syndrome(31.8%).Conclusion Qi deficiency and blood stasis syndromes were common in different stages of DKD.Qi deficiency and blood stasis were the basic pathogenesis of DKD.
