Analysis on Characteristics of Chinese Medicine Constitution in 69 Autoimmune Hepatitis Patients
Objective To explore Chinese medicine constitution type characteristics of autoimmune hepatitis( AIH) patients’. Methods General information of 69 AIH patients was collected
including 53 simple AIH patients and 16 post-AIH cirrhosis patients. Patients’ Chinese medicine constitution types were decided by Chinese medicine constitution classification and decision table. The distribution of 9 types of Chinese medicine constitution of different genders and ages of AIH patients was analyzed. Results Among 69 patients
11 cases( 15. 94%) were of single-constitution
58 cases( 84. 06%) of accompanying-constitution. The top three types of constitution in simple AIH patients were Qi deficiency and Qi stagnation with blood stasis constitution( 15. 09%)
Qi deficiency and Qi stagnation constitution( 13. 21%)
as well as phlegm-dampness and Qi deficiency constitution( 11. 32%). The top three types of constitution in post-AIH cirrhosis patients were Yin deficiency and phlegm-dampness constitution( 31. 25%)
Qi deficiency and Qi stagnation constitution( 18. 75%)
as well as Yin deficiency and Qi deficiency with Qi stagnation constitution( 18. 75%). From the aspect of 9 constitution types
Qi deficiency( 27. 83%)
Yin deficiency( 20. 00%) and Qi stagnation( 18. 26%) constitutions were common in simple AIH patients; while Yin deficiency( 33. 34%)
Qi deficiency( 24. 24%) and Qi stagnation( 18. 18%) constitutions were common in postAIH cirrhosis patients. Simple AIH patients were compared with post-AIH cirrhosis patients. The distribution difference of constitution types of different genders and ages AIH patients was not significant( P > 0. 05). Conclusion Qi deficiency
Qi stagnation and Yin deficiency constitutions were common in AIH patients
which showed that dispersing the stagnated liver-energy
invigorating the spleen
nourishing Yin and softening the liver were important therapeutic methods to treat AIH in clinic.
