Discussion on the Understanding of Zika Virus Disease from Chinese Medicine
the initial understanding of Zika Virus disease from Chinese medicine is purposed. Zika Virus disease belongs to the category of "loemia"in Chinese medicine and can also belong to"summer-heat epidemic infectious diseases". The cause of this disease is that patients are bitten by viruliferous Aedes. Pestilential Qi invades through skin and hair. The nature of this disease is warm-heat with dampness pathogen. The syndrome evolution accords with the warm disease ’s transmission( Weifen-Qifen-Yingfen-Xuefen). In the initial stage
the disease is involved Weifen and Qifen. Heat is in stomach. In acme stage
the disease is involved Yingfen and Xuefen
and the syndromes include accumulated heat in stomach
flaring up of heart fire and disharmony between heart and kidney. In convalescence
the symptom is mainly articular pains due to remnant pathogen stagnating in meridians and collaterals. Current available Zika Virus case reports are all with small samples and lack of Chinese medical four diagnostic methods information. Thus it has obvious limitations in understanding of Zika Virus disease from Chinese medicine.
