ZHOU Shaohua’s Experience in Treating Myasthenia Gravis
This article introduces ZHOU Shaohua’ s experience in treating myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis belongs to "Wei-syndrome"and "severe blepharoptosis". The pathogenesis is deficiency of kidney essence
the key treating principle is tonifying kidney
and Yougui Wan( 右 归 丸) is often used. Doctor ZHOU holds that
the syndrome classification of myasthenia gravis should use the disease-syndrome combination model
which means to combine the modern medicine classification and the Chinese medicine four-syndrome features to conclude four types:liver-kidney deficiency( type Ⅰ
simple eye muscle involved)
middle-Jiao deficiency( type Ⅱ a
mild systematic disease)
spleen-kidney Yang deficiency( type Ⅱb
moderate systematic disease)
and vital Qi exhaustion( type Ⅳ
severely involved). ZHOU uses tonifying kidney method in treating all the types.
