Clinical Study on 15 cases with Psoriasis Vulgaris with Blood Stasis Type (Stationary Phase ) Treated by Trowel Needle with Cupping
Objective To observe clinical effects of trowel needle incising ear back with cupping on psoriasis vulgaris with blood stasis type. Methods Sixty cases with psoriasis vulgaris with blood stasis type were randomly divided into trowel needle with cupping group
trowel needle group
cupping group and Chinese medicine group
15 cases in each group. Trowel needle and cupping were used once a day
seven days as one course. After a 2-day interval
given the second course
with the total treatment duration for 16 days; Chinese medicine was given one dose a day
for 16 days. Before and after treatment
the researchers observed scores of Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI) of each group and compared clinical effects. Results The total effective rate of the trowel needle with cupping group
the trowel needle group
the cupping group and the Chinese medicine group was 93. 3%
60. 00%
40. 00% and 20. 00% respectively. The compared difference in clinical effect of each group had statistical significance( P < 0. 05). The clinical effect of the cupping group and the trowel needle group was similar( P > 0. 05). The clinical effect of the trowel needle with cupping group was superior to that of the other groups( P < 0. 05). PASI scores of each group after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment( P < 0. 05). After treatment
PASI scores of the trowel needle with cupping group
the trowel needle group and the cupping group were significantly lower than those of the Chinese medicine group( P < 0. 05); PASI scores of the trowel needle with cupping group were significantly lower than those of the trowel needle group or the cupping group( P < 0. 05)
suggesting that the efficacy of the trowel needle with cupping group was better than the other three groups. Through factorial analysis
differences among the main effect of trowel needle
the main effect of cupping and the interaction effect of trowel needle and cupping had statistical significance( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Trowel needle and cupping therapy may reduce PASI scores of psoriasis vulgaris with blood stasis type and had obviously clinical effects. The clinical effect of trowel needle combined with cupping therapy was the most significant.
